I don't know how old I am because I spent some time on the street and like the Ray Milland movie, "The Lost Weekend", I have a hole in my memory and timeline. When I was rescued, the great people at Dumb Friends League/Humane Society of Denver, Colorado, USA estimated my age at four to five years old. So I may be about eight or nine (50 to 68 years in human terms). I think they are close. I feel like it! My human had to put down his old canine buddy of 16 years (90 human years) ten moths earlier. It took him a while to get ready for another companion. Every once in a while he tells me about his old friend, Echo. I don't like it when he does that because he gets tears in his eyes. I want him to be happy all the time. That's part of our job, right? I know I am rambling. I'll be done soon. After I was found my picture was taken and posted on the web.
My DFL (Copyright) Photo. Who could resist?
A little charm and voil'a. No, I'm not electric.
Luckily my new human saw my pretty mug the second day I was on the web and hurried down to the DFL to take a look at me. Again, luck would be with me. I was in heat and had kennel cough. Thus I was in quarantine. You think that is bad luck? No. It kept me off the adoption floor so no one could see my pretty puppy face and take me home. More luck. My soon to be human buddy couldn't find me in the public viewing area. Luckily he knew someone at DFL and asked them where I was. The mighty computer told my story. My savior insisted on seeing me. It was love at first sight on his part. I was miserable. Kennel cough, in heat, filthy and hungry. One look at me and my fate was sealed. After a bath, the old spay job, physical, meds and micro chip I was ready to go. In the mean time, my human family had to pass the adoption test, pay my "hotel" bill and get my new digs ready. Of course, I had to promise to attend obedience school, but I would promise anything to go home with these humans. As "they" (why don't humans know who said it?) say, the rest is history.

Wow a lost week, sounds scary. So glad you are where you are now. I read your comment about Echo - sounds like Echo was a great love of your human's life. As you know, we dogs can do that to humans (and each other.) Sounds like we both have humans that like to bond with their pack for life - that's the way it should be.
My pack (before I came) included a beautiful dog named Kaiya - such a beautiful Samoyed (though at the end her health problems took their toll on her) Like you being there because of Echo - I'm where I am because of Kaiya. Too bad I never met her, but my humans say they still "feel" her hanging out around our house.
Well, here's to Echo and Kaiya the best dogs ever!
