Several months ago we were out on the patio watching the Perseid meteor showers. Well, we are sky gazing again. On our walks the past several nights we have been trying to see the Machholz comet. It is to be found near the constellation Orion. "The Hunter" has either been covered by clouds or rain or we were out at the wrong time. The following sites will give you some info about the comet: IOL: Astronomy Ireland to hold comet-watch events tonight,
BBC - Astronomy - Comet, Indian skies play host to comet and Machholz comet. I like to use different sites for my research. It is nice to read how other countries see and react to world news and occurrences. I need to really educate my male human about the world.
In another "space" related item, my master's brother-in-law is deeply involved in the construction of the space shuttle external fuel tank. His team is very relieved that the tank redesign/fabrication is completed and has been safely delivered to the Cape. See BBC NEWS | NASA delivers shuttle fuel tank. If that tank were a bone we could all chew on it for a very long time. That thing is huge!
