My human has only one twos, one twos (twos) legs, doesn't think like us and he has been called weirds. I like that in a familys man. He is stubborns like me. He likes his beer dark. He could be called an Eclectic Peeps. Most of all, he loves me and I like that. DeltaBunny will journal our lives togethers in the small Delta town of Rio Vista, California.

WHALE COMPROMISE!

Let's hope this works out. I have learned that both sides have valid issues. It is time to compromise. BBC NEWS | Science/Nature | Compromise talk after whaling win

Hi Freda,

Humans just dont get it do they!
Stupid humans - all they are good for is serving us dogs!

Thanks again for your paw-prayers, Puddin, I mean lardo, I mean Opy is much better. Somewhat fruity, and oddly re-invigorated, but better.

Luv Charlie

Hey Charlie,

Glad to hear that Opy is doing better. Oh, oh, re-invigorated. You're in for it now! Just go easy with her at first, then you can reeeeally roughhouse. Glad things are returnin' to normal. Whatever that is.

Humans... Many times I've told my secretary to stay out of politics and other scary things, but he continues to rush headlong into unchartered territory. Oh well. Love'em anyway.

Woof!

Hi Freda,

You are right; a compromise was needed to break the institutional gridlock. Japan, Iceland and Norway will make a return to commercial whaling. However, the general American public will probably never endorse commercial whaling. Remember that the IWC also permits some whaling by indigenous communities, including Alaska’s Eskimos…

Now that the population of Whales has stabilized, I suppose there is no reason not to support the idea of sustainable whaling. But the issue of actual implementation and enforcement, formulation of quotas and accurate accounting of the actual stock left would make this a slippery slope that might accidentally result in their extinction. As long as the IWC can agree on reasonable measures, I guess it’s all right.

Say hello to your USer!!!!

Hey Good Buddy Günter,

In a logical world, the IWC compromise should bring about quotas and an accurate accountin' system that reasonable humans can live with. There should be no reason not to support sustainable whalin'. As you barked, the general American public (USers) most likely will not accept such a policy. I think the enforcement issue will be a big stickin' point. Who, how, when, etc. A self-policin' policy will not be accepted. My dad wanted to say somethin' at this point, but I barked that if he nothin' nice to say, sit and be quiet. He did say that humans around the world have got to stand up once in a while and tell certain countries that "you're not the boss of me!" He says that a lot to me. I always forgive him though.

This story will be interestin' to follow. Can humans reeeeally work together.

Woof!
