My human has only one twos, one twos (twos) legs, doesn't think like us and he has been called weirds. I like that in a familys man. He is stubborns like me. He likes his beer dark. He could be called an Eclectic Peeps. Most of all, he loves me and I like that. DeltaBunny will journal our lives togethers in the small Delta town of Rio Vista, California.

HEADS MUST ROLL!!!! OFF WITH CHERTOFF!!!

The following stories from the BBC and LA TImes/Yahoo News have done much to re-enforce the already low esteem my human holds for the ability of this country to protect its citizens. Unfortunately, I agree with him because the authorities did not allow pets to board the evacuation buses with their humans. They can't even help US!

BBC NEWS | Americas | Multiple failures caused relief crisis: "The scenes which most shocked the world were at the Superdome and the nearby Convention Center. Yet it turns out that neither Mr Brown nor his boss, Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff, knew about the crises there until Thursday.

This, despite numerous television reports from the scene. It was not until Friday that the first relief convoy arrived."

Survivors Wait as Disaster Builds - Yahoo! News: "When Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff was asked on National Public Radio why no help had been sent, he said he was unaware of the problem."

Yes, we can blame many and rightfully so but they better make sure this fiasco never happens again. What will happen when the inevitable terrorist attack comes? We certainly empowered the terrorists with our extremely poor response to Katrina. Now they know that their initial attack must also include attacks on our response resources. Are we safer with a Homeland Security Department that doesn't know what is going on four days after the fact? HEADS MUST ROLL!!!

My human and I are getting more upset and more angry the more we see, hear and read about this. Yes, there are stories of great heroism but we failed. It reminds my typist of the Roman Empire, whatever that is.

I guess the best thing for us to do is to donate, stop listening, reading etc and no more barking. Just hold the big wigs' feet to the fire.
ARRFFF!

Hi Frieda, I am Indy. I'm very excited to see that other doggies have their own blogs. May I link to your blog? I'll be sure to come back and read!

Yeah, and our Prez says he was unaware the city was at so much risk from a storm surge. I guess he does not watch PBS. Nor does anyone at FEMA, apparently.

Hi Indy,

Like your blog. Yeah, you can link to my blog. Check out 'Sam the beautiful all-black German Shepherd Dog' blog in my side bar if you would like to add your blog to his 'Dog Blog' list.

Happy to sniff ya!

Woof!

Hey Splash,

I think FEMA needs help from Cal's Uncle M ('Lassie'). He could sit and watch the news programs and bark out the pertinent headlines and warnings.
Maybe we all should try to help. No, that wouldn't work with me. I get bored really quickly when and if my humans watch the news. Remember, they don't watch much anymore due to the vacuum within the DC beltway. Would that be 'airheads'?

Woof!
