My human has only one twos, one twos (twos) legs, doesn't think like us and he has been called weirds. I like that in a familys man. He is stubborns like me. He likes his beer dark. He could be called an Eclectic Peeps. Most of all, he loves me and I like that. DeltaBunny will journal our lives togethers in the small Delta town of Rio Vista, California.

PAINTER/PHANTOM/OSCAR IS GONE BUT NOT THE MEYER

Now he thinks he can paint. Just because he didn't burn the house down he thinks he is a handyman. We had a PHANTOM SCREEN installed in the side doorway of the garage.

Open/closed? Closed/open? Posted by Hello

That's so he has some ventilation while he does his Van Gogh thing and at the same time hopefully keep those wicked west Nile mozzies out of the 'studio'. We have had one of those fancy screens on the front doorway for a while so I know what it does when I walk into it. It snaps open and makes a loud noise. So I don't do that. And that only works that way if you hit it from the inside. It was kinda dark that first night after the Phantom installation (big word) and I tried to walk into the garage (from the outside) as usual. Due to the low illumination (big word again) I didn't notice that the screen was closed?/open? and some invisible thing bent my nose. I couldn't see what was keeping me out and it totally freaked me out. For three days I would not approach that Phantom thing unless I had my collar on and knew we were going walkies. I am feeling better about it now and even lie on my 'studio' bed while 'VG' tries to paint. Anyway, the male human had to do a little touch up painting. He was so proud.

The color even matched! Posted by Hello

I did find something to sooth my bruised ego nose. Our Meyer lemon trees are blooming and smell sooo good.

A perfume to sooth my soul.Posted by Hello

I can't wait until it goes up and turns yellow.Posted by Hello

Those little yellow globes make a great pick me up in the summer. I can just stand there smelling and licking them until those humans tell me to move on, but I always make it back.

Mine all mine! Posted by Hello

I have decided to claim this one as mine and will camp out here until the fruits ripen.

P.S. While I was taking a break from editing, I was sprawled out near the front door when a new dog walked by pulling her human. As the official guard dog here I jumped up, began barking and rushed out the door. Now how this can happen, with my relating the Phantom door story above, I'll never know. I never made it out the door. THE PHANTOM got me. My nose was bent and the screen closed/opened with a loud SNAP! I must have a short memory for such things. Embarrassed? DuhWoof!

Whoa Freda, I'm glad your nose did not get too bruised from that screen being in your way. I'm always wacking my nose on walls and stuff, so I totally understand how painful and embarrassing incidents like that can be.

Last year I made my own doggie door in the screen going out back, this year my humans have use a heavier material and I haven't figured out how to make a hole in it yet - although I can see it better now . . .

Your human is very busy and handy to have around da house.......I don't tink I would like da pahantom screen ting myself. I can't see out at my house because it's very very old and dey didn't tink about short dogs who vant to look outside. You have a very pretty nose so I hope it didn't get broken or nothin. It'd put a damper on undercover vork.

Ve are still vaiting for spring here. Ve have da flowers but dey got surprised by winter again. It's snowing!

Hi Everyone,
Yeh, we all need to protect our smell-o-rator. I can't imagine a world without one. I am hoping that my nose has gotten use to the new pollens I encountered when we moved here. Last year I was licking my tummy and paws all the time when spring arrived. So far my nose has been in a lot of tall grass and no licking, so far. Knock on bone.

The alpha male here (Since there is only one male he fell into that title, otherwise..) occasionally busies himself with odd jobs. So far he has not burned down the house, fallen off a ladder or smashed a digit. Of course my great
supervision has helped a lot.

Heidi,
Sorry to hear about more of that white stuff falling out of the sky. It can be fun once in a while but this late in the year is a no no. Snowflakes are one of the reasons we moved to the left coast. It has only snowed here once in the last 16 years.
