Monday while Dad was in his art classes, Mom and I put the recycles in the trunk, dropped the top and rode into town. Ah, the sun on my hide and the wind up my nose. We had a great time. But I paid for it yesterday. I was D.A.P.ed again. After appointments in a town not that far, far away, my humans traveled to Davis and had a great lunch at the Little Prague Bohemian Restaurant.
After lunch, they went through the back country and visited the Bogle Vineyards to pick up their wine club wines. They got a 2003 Fiddletown Zinfandel and a 2003 Pinot Noir. Of course they had to stay and taste. The latest Moscato and Old Vine Zin were again very good, but Dad said the 2002 Petite Sirah Port was his favorite. Why not. He's a chocoholic. He is still letting his 2000 PS Port sleep a little longer and has some of the 2002 Port sleeping as well.
I got a surprise when they returned home. They brought a doggie bag with them. A great goulash with lots of meat! Mmmm. So, I was happy and they were very happy!
Great food, great wine, great weather. I guess those are some of the reasons we moved out here.

What's DAP'd mean? I'm just a puppy, and not too worldly yet. I've never even had goulash. I'll send my mom there next weekend to get some leftovers.
wow a wine tour - my humans talk about that kind of stuff, but as for me I'd just like to mark the vines as they walk around - do you think that's allowed?
On the chocolate thing, my male human once let me sniff some Chicken Mole made Oextapa style - drenched in dark chocolate sauce. I would have eaten that whole thing if he wouldn't have inhaled it first.
Cal,
I don't think marking the vines would give the grape a good 'nose'. Interesting I suppose but my humans think the marking might cut the tannin a bit. Ha, ha. But who knows who or what is out in the vineyard marking right now. The alcohol probably takes care of such things.
Your humans have a lot of vineyards to visit in your chilly state. They most likely have looked them up, but if they haven't I found this list.

My humans were eating a picnic lunch at a very nice winery when they looked down the hill and saw a female human marking a wall. Luckily the vines were far, far away. We are so lucky. We just go. No hiding!
