Mosquito season has begun with a vengeance. On our morning walk he was bitten 10 times. It was a warm morning so he wore shorts instead of pantaloons. Tonight he worn long pants and Deet. Just like on the Peruvian Amazon, the mossies are bad around dawn and dusk. They attack en masse. No wonder there are so many dragonflies here. A little apple cider vinegar on the bites relieves the itch. It tastes good, too.
The cool breezy days have gone. Now it is in the high 90s. Sacramento weather people say that this summer, through July, has been the mildest summer since the eighties. The evenings are still cool, but the days can be wicked when the delta breeze (db) doesn't blow. Found out that the db reaches Redding, 180 miles up the Sacramento River. Even cools them down at times. The tide can be one foot at Sacramento. Amazing.
I see that Dubya practices animal cruelty. While on Roland Martin's fishing show he unhooked a fish and threw it on to the deck so his dog, Barney, could chew on it. "Nice" man!
