While I was ruminating yesterday I was thinking about all those Painted Lady butterflies we had seen. We saw a few more this past week. I asked my typist/researcher to look up more about those little pretties. He found an interesting story, BBC NEWS | Butterflies 'follow flightpaths', about their behavior discovered by attaching transponders to them and tracking them by radar. It reminded me a little of the microchip I have between my shoulders. Apparently the butterflies know where they are going. I usually know where I'm going, but I can't say the same for my guy human. At least if I get lost, my chances of getting home are good. Just read my chip and call home. Maybe my humans should have chips inserted into their body. Or is that a little too... Orwellian?
I speak too soon. Maybe George knew something good might come of 'Big Brother', and I'm not talking of the telly show. Even pandas are getting into the tech thing, BBC NEWS | China giant pandas get broadband. I guess if techology can get me home and help safe the big black and white guys, then it has a place. And I thought humans and dogs were the only 'people' to get their teeth cleaned. Even pandas have a dentist. See BBC NEWS | Chinese panda gets his teeth done. My dad told me that while he worked at the zoo, even lions, tigers, polar bears (Oh my!) and other creatures were visited by the dentist. I bet they all have great smiles like Cal's.
I hear that if it is deep enough you can see China.
On this morning's walk I noticed that something had dug up part of that pile of dirt I found the other day. It smelled like another dog. Of course I had to help and got kind of muddy. It rained yesterday so I got a foots my feet washed when we got home. It feels so good. You know, I get my feet dirty on purpose. Please don't tell.
If you stand on your head you will see what I really look like.
Cal asked the gang what we might look like if each of us stood on our head. I thought about it and thought that if everyone out there just stood on their head and looked at my lovely face then they would find out. But I guess that wouldn't be fair. So I stood on my head instead. I still look the same. All the other stuff is upside down. What? ARF! ARF! The human guy says that's the way everything looks to him all the time. Whoa! Dizzzy!
My guy liked this picture so much he has put it on his computer as wallpaper. Wooof! I like that. Now I can look at myself every time I turn on the magic keyboard.
'Here's looking at you kid.' Spoken by my hero.

Hi Freda,
You and Cal crack me up! Woof!

Wow you look very good upside down. If you and I were in space we could float around and be upside down a lot. But wait, since there is no gravity in space, would direction be relative and not related to a particular planet's gravitational pull? Oh well, can't solve that now, have to go run with my sidekick (he bikes, I run that is and the alpha female rollerblades . . .)
Humans can find home very easily, they just follow us. Isn't that why we pull them around by their leashes?
I agree with Splash, without us they would be lost sometimes. That's why I always nudge my sidekick when he is supposed to turn into Petco. By the way that name "Petco" Do you think it's nice to call humans pets, they might consider it a derogitory word, so maybe the should change the name or something.
