The northern California town of Ferndale is a very nice Victorian town. The citizens have done a great job maintaining their heritage. The town is named after the home a Mr. Shaw built in 1883. He called it Fern Dale. The town is very picturesque. The city cemetery is located on a steep hillside overlooking the town. An interesting history.
Master also went to Eureka to check out the public murals, 20 plus. Some were very nice. Others were so so. Eureka was not a town of note according to Master. Of course he did not see all of it but downtown was ordinary and the waterfront had a lot to be desired. It appeared that the redevelopment effort ran out of moola.
